Trusting your needs to guide you
As I ask what to write about this week a calm comes over me and the message is about trust.
Defining trust I suspect the majority of us tend to think about how we relate to others before thinking about how trust can be defined by us. Lets remove the lens about our trust of another or its contrast, betrayal and look instead for how we can work with trust as a tool to sharpen the reflex of our own intuition and in this case, needs.
As I write this I am realizing how trust is a good example of the shift from Masculine to Feminine and from victim to empowerment. We are learning to claim what we need and allow the space for it to occur, in place of taking action to “make it happen”. So how do we claim our needs while relating to others and have them shift in alignment, while still meeting their own needs?
If we put trust in those places we think will not work and release trying to get things to work a certain way, they will. This is not an all or nothing process, it’s about “finesse”. For example a statement such as, "I prefer "X" and I trust that will come my way.” Then we let it go. If thought or frustrations surface around this need, keeping our focus on what we do indeed want is a good way to support the outcome. If we align with our needs, they too can align.
We know relationships change. Can we now then define a relationship as; what the two or more involved agree upon? Experiencing this with my spouse has allowed us to define our own relationship based on each of our needs.
An example of this is in 2006 my desire was to be able to leave our home to work a part time evening job and have my husband be able to flow into what needed to be completed. Over time I asked gently if he could look to see if there was wet laundry in the washer, to peek in the laundry hamper. Over time we’ve worked it where we flow together. This is an ideal for me while relating to another. I feel as if we both take ownership in our home life and this makes me feel supported. Is it perfect? No, at points it is but then a new preference appears and so I realign by asking for support in a new way. I choose them to release any frustration this has caused in the past (forgiveness, releasing myself from being a victim) and use my power of intention to visualize him supporting this new task.
Sometimes the stakes are higher and remembering most people who act out are doing so based on outmoded beliefs, fear and/or shame. What they really want is to be freed from just these beliefs! So when you allow your needs to be met you are allowing them to align and have their own needs. What I’m saying here is when we meet our needs, we allow others to balance to alignment. Thus, we stop enabling them and allow them to grow and really be who they are.
So, trust you today, choose your needs and literally make the world a better place!

"Disarray" This week's Energy Update
Sorry, this week is a little self-serving being that I know none of you have this problem! It may seem I'm about to write a spooky story based on the topic and while it is nearing Halloween, I find this problem haunts me year-round! How about you?
It’s those piles that lurk in the kitchen, in the office and on my desk. These piles are not dust bunnies where there actually is a real chance of inherent danger from dust mites. These piles are the bills, forms from school, junk mail, etc. that seem to come in an endless stream. I just got a pink sheet home from school whose writing had a likeness to embossing which read "2nd FORM HOME". Do you think she was actually, making a reference to E.T. and meant to write 2nd Phone Home? One can only hope.
The balance between the piles and the real are I want my focus need to be kept in perspective. However, when I don't, it comes down to DISARRAY! This is the word that came up for this week. Being a creative, I know clearing our space is an essential part of the creative process and if we are all creators, this is something we all have to face in order to make room for creation. Part of this creative force carries us day to day so we must have space cleared. BUT when it comes to piles and piles, what do we do?
We can do several things. Pull two catalogs and call to unsubscribe. Clear one closet each week. It is almost the holidays, that sweater or child's toy you give away might make somebody very happy.
Unsubscribe to 5 non-essential email newsletters, don't worry I know this one won't be included and if it is? Then I know you needed to do it! “Law of attract” more time. Tell yourself, "I have enough time." THEN.....and this is the most difficult part, GIVE YOURSELF THE TIME TO FUEL UP AND CREATE!
Focus people! Let the piles that keep coming in have less focus. If we live it, it will change into what we want.
This topic is one dipped in shame for me, a big bug-a-boo in my life! I hope it serves you as a reminder to let go. Even if the teacher sends a madly written 2nd notice, you can recognize you were focusing on what you want and that is an okay reason for a second notice!

Newsletter Post "Risk"
When I asked the Universe what this week's theme was for the newsletter, the word which came up was "Risk". No, not "Rick" the boy I dated who began with an "rrrrrr" and ended in an "ick"-not him. RISK!
I think it is a good topic because right away it seemed to make me feel uncomfortable! Here's what I came up while feeling out "risk".
Where do we find the sweet spot inside? Where does risk encourage us greater than fear that can hold us back, even debilitate us? Some time ago I read, "In order to make it in your career, you need to be around those who are making it." I think this sounds great but FEAR always won out for me. Why would they want to know me? What do I have to offer them? (I know you can all recognize these questions I've asked above as the beliefs which sabotage us).
What I am realizing is that if you step into the risk, you'll know if they're the ones as you start to get to know them. Those "ones" may change and shift but its you who has your hand at the helm. You choose how you frame it and honestly how these people or this situation fits. In life we need mentors, examples of the person we wish to grow to be.
The hardest beliefs may come in the form of "I'm just not ready." If this is the case, set a timeline or goal so you stick with the original plan. Or just jump in and forget about being "ready". Watch Good Will Hunting to bolster your power in "being ready".
Even if you end up on a road that seems totally wrong, I guarantee if you keep putting yourself in the way of risk, you'll bump around until you find your people, your support, your YOU. Sometimes the beauty of bumping around is that you get tidbits of goodness, information and growth that in hindsight are priceless!

Band Aids
I was asked to write an article which was published in 2011. The theme of that article came up in a reading this last weekend at the Hudson Holistic event. I feel it is a good theme for the week, giving example to; sometimes what we judge as an error is actually something working in our favor.
Several years back I was in New York at a convention. The floor was marble, the ceilings high and I was many miles from my home which sits across the street from a lovely farm. I was packed tight in a city and I wanted to dress the part, so of course I wore the really pretty looking red pumps and I walked and walked. I'm sure you know what's coming! Yes, I had to peek in on the home design show in the lower level, even though that had nothing to do with the show I was attending.
While walking past lovely staged scenes of the worlds top bathrooms, it felt like my feet all of a sudden broke. I knew it was time to move away from the $10,000 sink from Portugal and return back to my show. I stood there in too much pain to move and prayed for my need of two band aids to ease the sheer terror that was my feet.
I was otherwise in a joyful state, surrounded by abounding beauty and magical people around each corner. I was in my element!
So I walked back through the well proportioned lobby and what do I see on the floor? Yes, two band aids. However, I am Minnesotan through and through so I walked past the band aids acting as if they band aids saw me and were already talking about me. I said in my head, "those aren't my band aids." But as my feet creaked forward I just knew I needed the help. I wouldn't make it to the service stand where they were sure to tell me I had to walk another mile to get to the first aid stand. I stopped and thought a second, then I went back for the band aids. I remember feeling like a thief. It was as though 1,000 eyes were on me. When thinking back I am certain there were maybe 5 people in a lobby that could hold 18,000.
My mind racing, my feet almost grateful but in waiting. I had to find the key to have this instantaneous manifestation. I had to see it as okay, if not by human standards, spiritually. Right then it dawned on me. What if whoever lost those band aids was shy? What if they came back for them, couldn't find them and had to ask another person for help? What if this was a chance for them to overcome a little fear? This could help them grow. This experience was certainly growing my trust in asking for my needs! My taking their band aids was now noble! Perhaps I was a spiritual hero of sorts, maybe my guides at that very moment were sticking a gold star on my "growth" chart? Wait a minute.....I am a creative and this is getting out of hand but I had fun taking it there!
I've embellished a bit for both of our pleasure but I feel this illustrates a good point. Discernment! This is the key. When we know without a doubt it is meant for us, even if we can't prove it or others can't understand. Go with it!
When you ask, trust what the Universe is bringing to you, is in your best interest. I manifest things very rapidly when I can feel I'm on the right path in life or when I am honest in the expression of my feelings. What does it all mean? Getting what you REALLY need may be giving somebody else what they need and being true to your own needs and self IS the right path!

Follow yourself, listen to your intuition
"Become the psychic you've dreamed you could be!" "Be your best today at exactly what you want to do!" "Don't wait, we have the way for you to heal your life!"
We've all heard or read these types of pitches many places. I say GO WITH YOUR GUT! Brene Brown challenges this very idea that the crux of our identity is wrapped up or shall I say exposed in our shame and our ability to be vulnerable. Then a happen chance conversation with two women-who can listen-reinforced this concept. I've always wondered how we can maintain the feeling of inspiration after we've left a great conference, seminar or interaction that filled us up. I now know. In those moments we got to feel connected and vulnerable (because we felt safe or took a risk and it worked out). Our heart only knows how to operate this way. When we step back into parts of the myth, our heart experiences resistance and voila! We struggle to let go of energies or negativity that doesn't serve us.
I am hearing it loud and clear from the heavens, follow you and only you, you know what is best for you!
I do realize what I am saying right here is sharing a message that says, "You don't need a reading, you need to trust you." I also am no fool and understand that when I read for others my intent is to empower you, so you don't have to follow a fad, you return to following you in all your magnificence.
If life seems confusing to you, ask for answers from your inner guidance. Ask the Universe to help, to give you ques to support your journey. We are not alone and we can find a common ground which unites us.
I've thrown my hat in the ring to speak out of state. Please send intention that this broad broadens!

The Messenger in my life
"Well," Scratching my head, "it took me long enough!"
This image is my cat. My second time I've had him. He didn't run away or get lost and return. He died
and came back. It has taken me so long to understand it. When I was a child I had a black cat named
Rascal. He was great, he loved me and was my best friend....even though he was a cat, not a dog. He
died when he was 9 years old. Strikingly, I believe that is the number of completion!
Then a half decade ago we fostered a mama cat who was a stripped short hair and not striking at all!
She bore some beautiful kittens. Two were fluffy with the softest fur and great coloring. Two were
short hairs like her and had nice markings as well. One of them was black on top and white on the bottom
with a little blacky ink mark against his stunningly white fur on his back leg. I named him smudge and I
knew we needed to keep that kitty with us. However, I didn't know why. A friend mentioned animals returning
to be with us again in the same life. I thought about this and when I looked at my own circuit of cats, it
dawned on me that Rascal is Smudge. The more I sat with it, the more I could see this to be true. Rascal died
with this sore in his mouth and just where he had that sore, smudge has a black spot in his mouth. Rascal
had a funny thing with his tail, so did Smudge, upon birth.
So I accepted the possibility of Smudge being Rascal and Rascal being Smudge. One day it dawned on me that
Rascal was all black with a little white on his throat. As a child I said what I thought to people and they
seemed to listen, I had a little power with my voice. Now Smudge's under carriage is all white and he is bathed
in black on top dripping down like chocolate. He is masked by the black.
So this begs the question. Once Smudge releases from this life, what will he take with him? I think Rascal took
a lot of my personal injuries with him. I believe he kept me healthy and made sacrifice for me through his own
shortened life. Smudge is loving me a lot. He is dedicated to me and comes running when I call. Drama or love?
Hard to tell, he is a cat!
So what is to come? I suspect an improved version of Smudge and Rascal's legacy. I hope, in a sign that I've
grown far, he'll come in a white variety? See, if we all tune into these things in our lives, WOW what we can
find!!!
